Welcome to martindrayton.com - the official site of 2005 Amateur Skateboard World Tight Slalom Champion, Martin Drayton.
Martin is also an accomplished snowboard teacher, BASI Snowboard Trainer, and a Park City Mountain Resort Staff Trainer. He's been skating since 1977, only recently joining the Gecko Decks team.
We will soon be releasing photos and specs of our new baby. We will be making available to the general public the lightest, torsionally stiff production slalom deck ever seen...
For those that are ready,a little while after we hope to release a limited edition run of an even lighter version with a revolutionary superlight core, the type of which has never been seen before on a slalom board (don't ask because we can't tell you...yet). When one of these arrives on your doorstep you'll believe that the box is empty. But better yet it has unrivalled strength and torsional stiffness...Too good to be true? Wait and see...
Martin Drayton has today successfully set a new World skateboarding record. Witnessed by both the Guinness World Record Organisation, Chinese Media Agencies and his sponsors, Gecko Decks, Martin successfully completed a flat slalom course in record time (just over 12 seconds), in wet conditions. Click here for more information.
Hyde Park, London, UK. Martin Drayton will attempt to create a new skateboarding world record at the request of the Guinness World Record Organization (GWRO). He will be attempting the extremely difficult feat of negotiating 50 cones, on the flat, with no cones down. At the request of The GWRO, Martin will be attempting to negotiate the course with only a 5ft 3ins gap between the cones, instead of the usual 6ft spacing, significantly increasing the difficulty.
The main event will be taking place at Hyde Park on Tuesday 2nd October 2007. All welcome. Watch this space for future bulletins.
